I love me a good hike with my hubby

This past weekend the hubby and I went on a beautiful hike together.  It's been quite awhile since the two of us have gone hiking and since we both wanted to get out of the house, it seemed like the perfect time.
So we packed up some water bottles, put on our hiking shoes, put on our awesome non-matching headbands (yes, hubby's hair is now long enough to push back with a headband), and trekked on out of the house and up a mountain.  And the sign in the picture below? Yep, gotta love it. It was at the head of a driveway right before we got to the trail head. Someone doesn't want people on their property.  The driveway is lined with signs like these.  Another reads, "If you're not 'blood,' you will 'bleed.'"  Aren't people friendly?

life at its finest

Look at this cute little baby birdie I found sitting in the grass yesterday. I couldn't help but pull out my camera and take a few shots of him.  Even though his mama--who was sitting up on a roof--was squawking at me until I left.  I went back to check on him a couple of hours later and he was gone, so I hope he was okay. Because let me tell you, that little birdie did not want to move when I was taking pictures.

flowers for your weekend

Spring in Hawaii is not your traditional Spring.
Mostly because Hawaii doesn't have any traditional seasons.
Nope, there is just the raining season and the hot season.
I love Hawaii, but sometimes I miss seeing the flowers bloom
for the first term after a cold winter.
Thankfully I saw these yesterday and they brightened my day.
Happy Saturday!
